Norwegian Ski Resorts: Hemsedal and Geilo

Hemsedal is the second largest and the most popular international resort in Norway. It is often referred to as “Chamonix of the North” – and for a reason: you will find there breathtaking mountain peaks, snow valleys and multiple ski-tracks.

Norwegian Ski Resorts: Hemsedal and Geilo

Annually thousands of beginners and advanced skiers visit this small mountain village. The peak Totten (1497 meters) dominates the area, with magnificent Tinden (1444 meters) by its side and massive Rogjin (1370 meters). All peaks are connected with the net of lifts, giving the opportunity to observe various landscapes in one day.

Hemsedal has 22 lifts and 48 tracks with overall lengths of 43 km. The longest slope counts 6 km. Freeride lovers will find endless untouched lands that you can discover together with local guides. The season lasts from mid-November until early-May. The snow is abundant and of the highest skiing quality – light dry powder that crumbles under a ski board or skis as a beautiful plume.
